The engine is the heart of your car and also, it’s a very complex system. An engine requires regular services and maintenance to keep it working at its best. Wear and damage will lead to engine problems. These are a few of the problems your Chevy dealer in Frankston, TX can fix for you. You're Using More Fuel How is the efficiency with your car? If you're visiting the pump more often than you used to, there's a potential problem with your engine. There are several reasons for this problem, including old oil, a clogged air filter, and worn spark plugs. Each of these reasons also means that your engine is under more strain than it needs to be. Worn spark plugs, for example, can lead to misfiring. When a cylinder misfires, much of the fuel in the cylinder isn't burned but dumped into the exhaust system. This lowers engine performance and increases fuel usage. Old oil forces your engine to work harder, causing it to use more fuel. The lack of lubrication will increase engine damage too. Our technicians will investigate and repair the problem, Check Engine Light One of the best early warning systems is the check engine light. This light is intended to give you advanced knowledge of any problem in the engine. It's connected to numerous sensors in your Chevy that monitor all the essential components. These sensors provide a continual flow of information to your car's computer about the state of your engine and its components. If a problem is detected with one of the components, your computer will log the problem with an error code, and the check engine light will illuminate. If this happens, we advise contacting our service department ASAP. Our technicians will connect your car's computer to our diagnostic system and identify the problem. Once the problem is identified, we'll repair it. Your Engine Is Overheating Overheating is one of the most dangerous problems for an engine. Although your engine is designed to operate effectively at temperatures of 185 F to 220 F, higher temperatures will cause damage. Excessive heat can cause the failure of seals and gaskets, for example, the head gasket which separates the two sections of your engine. High temperatures can warp the pistons, damage the cylinders, and cause severe trauma to your engine. If your engine temperature gauge is climbing, it's important to investigate the problem right away. We'll examine the engine and fix the cause of the problem. Get Your Engine Serviced in Frankston, TX Today A healthy engine is the key to a long life for your car. Call us today at Bacon Chevrolet.
